Install ReachTo on Android and either connect your own Twilio account with the Account SID and Auth Token, or buy a local number in the app by choosing the country and state. Calls and SMS then use that US, UK, or Canada number over data or Wi-Fi, with no SIM from that country. ReachTo is $5 per month after a free 10-minute trial. Call usage follows Twilio's published rates, which vary.
Sales teams, freelancers, and founders use this when they sell to customers in the US, UK, or Canada, including people based in India. The personal number stays off the call. ReachTo is an independent Android app from Ascent24 Technologies LLP, not a Twilio product. iOS is coming soon. Install it from the download page (Google Play, package com.reachto.app).
Why a local caller ID matters
A customer in Austin, Manchester, or Toronto is used to numbers from their own country. A number from somewhere else is easier to treat as unknown, even on a call about a deal they know. Someone in Bengaluru, Delhi, or Mumbai can show a US, UK, or Canada caller ID and keep a personal number private. ReachTo does not publish pickup figures, and this article does not estimate one.
"No SIM" means no US, UK, or Canada SIM and no roaming plan from a carrier there. The phone still needs Wi-Fi or the mobile data you already have. The caller ID is the ReachTo number, not the home SIM.
Three ways to show a local number
There is more than one way to put that number on a phone. This article does not quote other vendors' prices.
Carrier roaming or a second SIM
A carrier there can issue a local number on a SIM or eSIM. It stays tied to that plan. Roaming on a home carrier usually shows the home number. This page does not list carrier prices.
Desktop or browser calling
A laptop softphone misses calls when the laptop is shut. Many SIP clients also need a SIP domain and a password per person. The mobile softphone alternative is why ReachTo uses an Account SID instead.
A mobile softphone such as ReachTo
ReachTo is on the Android phone you already carry. Caller ID is the local number. Calls and SMS use data or Wi-Fi. After a 10-minute trial the fee is $5 per month or $50 per year, and Twilio bills usage. iOS is coming soon.
Set up ReachTo with your own Twilio account
Use this when the number is already in Twilio. The same connection is in how to use a Twilio phone number on mobile.
- Copy the API credentials, not the password. In the Twilio Console, copy the Account SID and Auth Token. ReachTo never asks for the Twilio login password.
- Install ReachTo from the download page. Android is on Google Play. iOS is coming soon.
- Connect the account. Paste the Account SID and Auth Token. On Android they stay on the device. See where the Auth Token is stored.
- Choose the caller ID from the numbers on the account. Buy a UK +44 or Canadian local number in Twilio first if it is not listed.
- Call and text while the phone is online. The other person sees that number. The trial is 10 minutes, then see pricing. Usage stays on your Twilio account.
Or buy a local number in ReachTo
Use this when you want the number from ReachTo. You pick the country and the state. ReachTo does not ask for a Twilio password.
- Install ReachTo from the download page.
- Choose buy a local number instead of connecting a Twilio account.
- Pick the country, then the state. For the US, choose the state. For Canada, use that list for the province. For the UK, choose the country and a +44 number.
- Confirm the number. It is the caller ID. For a UK +44 number, wait until any Twilio bundle is approved.
- Test it on Wi-Fi, then call the customer. Minutes follow Twilio's pricing, which this page does not copy.
What you pay
The platform fee is $5 per month or $50 per year after the free 10-minute trial (pricing). Calls and SMS are extra at Twilio's rates, which vary. See twilio.com/pricing. Buying the number in ReachTo does not add a second platform fee. If checkout shows a number charge, that screen is the price.
Compliance notes before you call or text
A local caller ID does not waive the customer's local rules. These pointers are not legal advice. Product help: support@reachtoapp.com.
United States, SMS. Twilio's A2P 10DLC guide says texts from a US local number through Twilio to a US phone need a Brand and a Campaign, including for individuals. Unregistered traffic can be filtered. Voice is separate.
United States, calls. The FCC says telemarketing calls to a home phone are barred before 8 a.m. and after 9 p.m., and prerecorded telemarketing needs prior express written consent. See the FCC telemarketing page.
United Kingdom, the number. Twilio's UK guidelines list identity details that differ for individuals and businesses. A Twilio note on UK long codes says a new +44 number needs an approved bundle before voice or messaging (bundle fields). If ReachTo sold the number, ask support what you still submit.
United Kingdom, calls. Ofcom says a live marketing caller must identify themselves and should not call a Telephone Preference Service number unless that person agreed. Recorded calls need explicit consent. The ICO says to screen the TPS and Corporate TPS.
Canada, numbers and SMS. Twilio's Trust Hub describes extra registration for numbers outside the US or Canada, so a Canada local number is not in that group on that page. Canada SMS guidelines still say carriers filter long-code A2P texts, and they ask for opt-in.
Canada, calls. The CRTC limits telemarketing to 9:00 a.m.โ9:30 p.m. weekdays and 10:00 a.m.โ6:00 p.m. weekends. The rules say those hours are the consumer's, provinces can be stricter, and the National Do Not Call List applies to telemarketing.
Emergency calls. Do not use ReachTo for 911, 999, or 112. See the regulatory page.
Calling from India, or from anywhere else
A call from India to Ohio, Glasgow, or Calgary still leaves the Android phone over the internet. You do not add a foreign SIM to localize the caller ID. You need data, and you need the right to make that call. ReachTo rings a callback only while the phone is online.
